Who doesn’t love climbing?

This is an unforgettable adventure that will test your strength skills, as you will be climbing an Icelandic glacier!  This activity is ideal for enthusiastic nature-lovers, who would like to experience an adventure in their trip while exploring the Solheimajökull glacier to the fullest.

It is suited for everybody, no experience required!

Itinerary

Our journey starts when we will pick you up in Reykjavik at 08:00 with our 4×4 vehicle. The drive to the glacier lasts around 2 ½ hours during which you can enjoy the astonishing view of the Icelandic landscapes.

Once we arrive at the parking lot of Sólheimajökull glacier we will walk for 20 minutes to the spectacular glacier’s
tongue where we will do a safety briefing instruction and help you gear up.

We will cross crevasses and moulins until we find a nice spot to start our climbing. We will go over climbing techniques and various levels so you can get the best out of the experience.

After 2 hours approximately on the glacier, we will head back to the parking lot full of great memories and photos and we
will enjoy a warm cup of coffee and Icelandic snacks.

After that, it will remain a 2 1/2 hours drive back to your accommodation.

  • Important! This is an itinerary draft so that you can get an idea of what to expect. The time that will be spent on each location can be personalized to your needs. It is very important to us that you get the best quality of experience.
