Glacier hike at Sólheimajökull

It is an excellent choice for experiencing the magical Sólheimajökull glacier in your own pace. You will get to see and photograph unique ice formations, jagged ridges, and color of blue-ice and black sand from the past volcanic eruptions. During the hike, you will learn more about the glacier and have lot of fun! The hike is suited for almost everybody!

The oldest glacier ice that has been found in Sólheimajökull is believed to be around 4 to 600 years old !

What to expect?

Once we all gather at Sólheimajökull parking lot, we will take a 20-min to the spectacular glacier’s tongue where we will do a safety briefing instruction and help you gear up.

The hike is relatively easy and can be done by almost anybody. We will be exploring the glacier for around two hours. On the top of the glacier you will be able to experience the world like never before!
