By completing the renowned NOLS Wilderness First Responder (WFR) course, Hyperborea equips its team with the necessary skills to prevent danger, offer quality experiences, foster a sense of trust, and prioritize the safety of its customers, particularly during tours in challenging environments such as glaciers.

More specifically, the NOLS Wilderness First Responder course is widely recognized as the gold standard for first aid training in the outdoor industry. It goes beyond basic first aid skills, providing participants with the tools and knowledge to make critical medical and evacuation decisions in remote and challenging locations. 

Hyperborea’s guides underwent a comprehensive training program that combines classroom learning with practical scenarios in the field. In the classroom, they learned important medical skills and decision-making techniques. But the real growth happened during field exercises, where they faced simulated emergencies and applied their learning in order to be able to handle real-life situations more effectively. 

Also, through their WFR training, our team gained the ability to identify hazards and take proactive measures to minimize risks. They assess the stability of glaciers and evaluate weather conditions to make informed decisions that prioritize safety without compromising the quality of the adventure.
